Effective Date: January 27, 2026

At Arctic Sovereign, we specialize in one-of-a-kind, museum-quality biological artifacts. Due to the rare nature of these items and the complex federal regulations governing their transfer, our return policy is designed to protect the integrity of the specimens and ensure absolute legal compliance.

1. 14-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

We provide a 14-day return window from the date of delivery. If you are not completely satisfied with your acquisition, you must contact our curator office at returns@arcticsovereign.com within this period to initiate a Return Authorization (RA).

  • Eligibility: To be eligible for a refund, items must be in their original, unaltered condition.
  • Documentation: Returns will not be accepted without the inclusion of all original legal provenance, including NOAA Letters of Determination, CITES permits, and USFWS MTRP tags.

2. Condition Standards for Returns

Due to the delicate nature of Arctic materials, the following standards apply:

  • Polar Bear Rugs: Must show no signs of foot traffic, hair breakage, or environmental damage (e.g., exposure to smoke or UV light). Professional mounts must be returned with all claws and anatomical features intact.
  • Narwhal & Walrus Ivory: Must be free of new chips, scratches, or cracks caused by improper climate control (desiccation) while in the buyer’s possession.
  • Scrimshaw Art: Any evidence of cleaning agents or alterations to the ink/pigment will void the return eligibility.

3. Fees and Shipping

  • Restocking Fee: All approved returns are subject to a 20% restocking and processing fee to cover the costs of technical re-inspection and administrative permit filing.
  • Return Shipping: The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs and must use a specialized, fully insured white-glove carrier approved by Arctic Sovereign.
  • Original Shipping: Initial shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are considered Final Sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:

  • Custom Work: Any taxidermy or ivory carving commissioned specifically for the client.
  • International Sales: Due to the extreme legal complexity of re-importing CITES-regulated species, all sales outside the United States are final.
  • Discounted Items: Any items marked “Final Sale” or “Vault Clearance” at the time of purchase.

5. Damaged or Defective Shipments

You must inspect your specimen immediately upon arrival.

  • Transit Damage: If damage is visible upon delivery, you must note the damage on the Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing and contact us within 48 hours.
  • Resolution: If the damage is verified to have occurred during transit, Arctic Sovereign will cover the cost of professional restoration or provide a full refund/replacement at our discretion.

6. Refund Processing

Once the returned item is received and cleared by our master taxidermist and legal compliance officer, your refund will be processed.

  • Timeline: Please allow 7–10 business days for inspection and an additional 3–5 business days for the credit to appear on your original payment method.
